PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED INSTRUCTION BERBANTUAN PAIR CHECK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA POKOK BAHASAN PERANGKAT PERIPHERAL

Abstract : The purpose of the research is to figure out any improvements of students study results after Pair Check assisted Problem Based Instruction model is applied. The subjects of the research are the XI grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Petarukan majoring in computer and networking techniques. The methods of collecting the data are documentation, multiple choice test, and checklist observation sheet. The method uses in the reaearch is Quasi Experimental Design. According to the findings,the class’ study result improvement is 28,80 and 26,67 for experiment and controlling class respectively. The t value is 1,097 and 0,277 significance. The N-gain difference within both class is 4% since the experiment class is 52% and 48% for controlling class.the experiment class’s mean of affective and psychomotoric is higher than the controlling class. Based on the findings, the writer concludes that in an unsignificant way, the application of Pair Check assisted Problem Based Instruction model could improve student study results. The writer then suggests that pair check-assisted problem based instruction model might be implemented to any other subjects considerably. It depends also on the condition and time of the class.

Abstrak : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa setelah penerapan model Problem Based Instruction berbantuan Pair Check. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI.3 dan XI.2 program keahlian Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan SMK Negeri 1 Petarukan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi, tes dalam bentuk pilihan ganda, dan observasi dalam bentuk lembar observasi checklist. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Design. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 28,80 sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 26,67. Nilai t sebesar 1,097 dengan signifikan 0,277. Selisih N-gain kedua kelas sebesar 4% dengan kelas eksperimen 52% dan kelas kontrol 48%. Rata-rata tiap aspek penilaian aspek afektif dan psikomotorik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan model Problem Based Instruction berbantuan Pair Check dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa walaupun kurang signifikan. Saran yang dapat diberikan dalam penelitian ini model Problem Based Instruction berbantuan Pair Check diharapkan dapat diterapkan pada materi lainnya sesuai dengan pertimbangan dan dalam penerapannya perlu memperhatikan waktu dan kondisi kelas.
